I need to get a new sump plug for this oil change on the 205. I've reused the old plug a couple of times and its weeping a tiny bit now so needs a new brass washer. Halfords stock replacement plugs, but have a bad record of appreciating what a 3SGTE is in their fitments lists.

Are the 3SGE and 3SGTE plugs the same? If not, does anyone know the size of the washer as I think they stock them on their own?

(Cant order from Toyota as I work Mon-Fri 7am - 6pm and there isnt a Toyota dealer in miles and for some reason none in Glasgow take phone orders :? )

EPC shows this to be the same on the 3S-GE :)

the plug itself is re-usable every time unless the threads are knackered.

toyota sump plugs don't use brass washers anyway dude.

if you give me your address i'll pop a load in the post to you for nowt ;)

That'd be awesome mate, PM sent ;)

Now you come to mention it, I dont remember a separate washer. Just when I had a poke about under the car recently there was a touch of oil seeping past the plug, maybe just stuff left over from the last time I changed the oil, was a damp patch more than a drip.

There should be a separate washer there. Mr T have given me one without me having to remember each time so far. It's only what looks like a nylon washer.

The sump plug washers I get from Toyota are always blue with fibre either side as Peter says.

I've got a shiney new plug for my next oil change as the existing plug is looking a bit dog eared.

Now that I think about it, it might've been blue. The one that came off was red (from a service done by people I would't take it back to)

Mine has a magnetic sump plug which I bought.

It is great coz it catches any tiny little 'bits' in the oil too small for the filter. The first time I changed the oil, it had a 'sludge' on it which was really interesting . . .

It does have a washer on it, tho i couldn't tell you what colour . . . .

The one I recently bought from mrT as a standard 165 plug was a magnetic one (surprised me) and they gave me a handful of red washers as well
