i was wondering if anyone could help or point me in the right direction.

cut a long story short, theres been a few times recently where i have diffculty selecting gears. ive had my mechanic look at it and the gear linkage bush's are shot. he told me theres alot of play in the bush's but you cant replace them seperatly, so it'll have to be the whole cable.

the cheapest pair he can source are £320 + vat, is this about right??
im going to ring around tomorrow (fensport, tcb) for prices, is there any other places i could try, that people have dealt with before???

thanks in advance

I think that Steve G gets hold of them cheap??

Nigel, didn't you just get some for your 205 from Steve?

The only other thing I can think of is that there was a guy in the states knocking these out for around £30. (MUCH better than £300!!)

you can't replace the bushes for original genuine parts, but you can find replacement inserts specially made for the job.

there's some on ebay sometimes, don't know if they fit the 205 though. also gtschris sells some, again don't know if they will fit the 205

Have a word with chris who can be found at www.gtschris.com he can supply these for ~£25 iirc?

Don't buy the whole gear linkage/cable!

Just to add a further end note to this thread the Brass inserts from 'gtschris' also work v/well and they are around £25 for the pair including circlips plus whatever your fitting charge is..

A very underated mod..

Cheers Nigel C.
