Does anybody have a tried and tested method of removing oily/greasy marks from the light grey headlining material used to trim the interior of the Four?

There are all sorts of domestic cleaning fluids available but I don't want to rush into this and use the wrong stuff as it could ruin the trim.

Ticket used to be the weapon of choice but I have no idea if you can still buy it. Google isn't much help either given the rather generic name :(

Failing that I'd nip up your local Sainsburies etc. and buy a bottle of carpet cleaning fluid. That's pretty material inert stuff so I'd be very suprised if it did damage. The back of the sunvisor seems like a good test spot ;)

dirty fingerprints etc on a headlining.....spray brake cleaner on a rag and wipe away...best by far, tried by me many a time, have a bad habit of touching light cloured interiors trims my grubby mits :D works well on dirty foot marks to floor mats/carpets too

don't use it on soilid plastics though, it will burn the surface of the plastic and ruin them

I used some carplan (or similar) upholstery cleaner came with a plastic bush as part of the can . . .

The results spoke for themselves and the car smelt really nice for a few days, but it was mighty hard work and I had to do it in 2 stages as my arms were hanging off after doing one side.

I've used Auto glym interior cleaner successfully before, but not on really nasty greasy stains I admit. Might be worth a try though? Good luck getting it clean again Don :)

Cheers,
Mark
