I have a bit of a problem.
My Aussie split last weekend, and after a bit of searching MAT_H from the OC had a xspower DP that i could use until i got a replacement.
The fit of the pipe pulled the flexi over to cause the exhaust to rub on the propshaft, which in itself isnt too much of a problem, but i have another problem in that i can only get 0.65 bar max. I have tried different settings on the boost controller but this makes no difference.

Im a bit stumped, could the wastegate fouling issues i have read about cause this? Or could it be something else connected with the DP fitting?

Im lost...

any help will be great!
Cheers
Rob

possibly, i suppose the wastgate could be getting stuck open but then surely you wouldnt get much pressure at all.

I think the wastegate fouling issues normally cause overboost not under boost that you are experiencing if there is such a thing.

Im not sure tho, i'm sure some1 techy will be along in a moment!

Robbie - is it coming on boost real late in teh rpm range and slowly building to a max of 0.65 bar? if so then it is probably the wastegate stuck open. It is about the only thingh that can cause it unless teh turbo has lost its turbine wheel blades !

Is it an aggressive 0.65 bar (lol) at sub 3000rpm or a really laggy 4k+rpm 0.65
What is your actuator rated at

If the actuator is stock then I would hazzard a guess that the boost controller if knackered or disconnected

What you should be able to do:-
Locate the pressure sensor for the EBC.
Connect the trusty air pump you have left over from yourr first round of knackered actuator diagnosis :D
Connect this to the EBC pressure sensor. Check that the EBC is able to see pressure. when you pump it up to say 1 bar you ought to hear the solenoid clacking away trying to control boost. If you can't then there's something amiss in the electronics somewhere.
I can guarantee that you would not be the first to leave the solenoid disconnected

I'd have to say that if you disconnect nothing other than the down pipe in the install that it sounds a bit like a blocked exhaust or a restriction.

I'd be disconnecting the flexi from the DP and running it down the road quickly to see if boost come back.

unless you can read boost stationary with this set up in which case split the pipe and give her some throttle check boost on ya gauge.

if the flexi is pulled across enough then it could be restricting flow, causing back pressure which the waste gate will dump.

MAYBE

I'll go and check the suggestions.. the exhaust was pulled over by about 15mm, hence the rubbing on the prop. I didnt check when boost was coming in - i'll let you know when i take it out in a bit..

cheers everyone!

So you had to disconnect the EBC when you replaced the DP?.....or were the two entirely unrelated.......was your EBC ever connected...
