Just picked up my new 4 and the tepterature doesn't creap much beyond minimum.. would this be the thermostat?

Seems to get higher when its stationary though.

Yep my first guess would be a failed thermostat.

Temp getting up to normal only at low speeds or stationary, then dropping back low at higher speeds is classic stuck thermostat symptoms.

Seems to be common at the moment. Guess the stat must have a life of about 11 years :)

IMHO just buy MrT - My stat was circa £14 & £3 for a gasket.

Or - buy a TRD stat if it is for a track vehicle.

Im not going to bother with the TRD stat as i dont think i'll need it on this 4... maybe i'll keep it on the other one though ;-)

My JDM ST205 also exhibited irregular temperature reading when I first picked it up. Had me a bit worried at first but seems to have settled down now with more regular running. Allegedly it has a TRD thermostat fitted. I plan to do a full cooling system flush at Easter and replace the thermostat then probably with a standard one as I have no intention of taking this anywhere near a track....honestly
