Does anyone know if this stuff is any good? The can of stuuf you can use to temporarily repair a flat tyre.

I am thinking about ditching my spare (It'll save weight and with the 18s I am running I can't use the slimline spare anyway)

As I understand it having a can of this stuff in the car fulfils your legal requirement to carry a spare or equivalent (I believe that new Peugeots use this instead of a spare anyway)

I am not worried about the inside of the tyre getting gunked up because if I got a puncture I would not have the tyre repaired anyway.

What are people's thoughts?

Oh, and lastly, Can this stuff be got from my local motorfactor or do I need to get it from somewhere special?

TIA

Yep pretty good - seen it demonstrated numerous times.

The only problem I see is that once it is in there, how do you get it out? This might not seem a problem but I suspect the balancing of the tyre/wheel will become a problem the faster you go? Seem to recall a figure of "gauranteed up to 70mph" mentioned?

I think it's designed as a "only so you can limp to a tyre shop" backup.

That's certainly what I'll be using it as.

And when they take the old tyer off they can clean it up for me too :)

I've used this aerosol foam tyre filler to fill a big Bridgestone Desert Dueler tyre on my Hilux in Oz when I got a puncture in the middle of the Western Desert. I needed two large cans but it got me to Alice Springs so it gets my vote!
PS The tyre fitter had a nightmare cleaning the stuff off the inside of the wheel

Cool. Then the spare tyre goes :)

Not sure how that's gonna help my front/rear weight split though lol.

My old man used a can of it on his motorbike when he got a flat in Morrocco

Drove round on it for weeks with no apparent signs of distress lol
Was still in the tyre when he sold the bike 4000 miles later :D :D

I use something similar in my MTB also. It's not actually the foam stuff but more of a liquid goop that goes off in contact with air. It's basically PVA glue with some bonding fibre mixed in. Works a treat and seals punctures before the tyre goes flat

I believe you can get it for car applications too. Try a search for slime tyre sealant
