Hi all, can someone get me the part number for the electric aerial? Its the telescopic rod that I need which has the teethed plastic "tail" coming out the bottom of it.

I dont need anything else, no motors or anything, just the rod.

If you can post a picture of the aerial assembly too then that would be great.

Cheers all

Believe the bit you want is a "Rod +Pipe, sealed w/cable"

Part No - 86337-2B200

Approx £44

Mahender, not sure if the MR2 does have exactly the same bit, but if you don't want to pay new prices you could try the Toyota Celica Breakers (TCB) who do exactly as their name suggests!

Having said that, it is always worth checking the price of new parts, sometimes you might be pleasantly surprised as Mr T doesn't always want a kidney or other vital body organ in return for a small piect of plastic for the 4!

TCB details =

Hope this helps :)

As stated www.tcbparts.co.uk sell them brand new for the MR2.

"MR2 (89-94) / Genuine Toyota
Electrical aerial mast, this mast is for the MR2 model having the no.3 piece rear spoiler

Price: £ 23.99 + ( £ 4.20 v.a.t.) each"

If its not the right one then give them a call and they should be able to get it for you.

I need to contact them and get a price for a new one for a 94-99 Celica.

Shouldnt be that bad a price really. Im willing to spend on them anyway cos I have seen copies that stick out an inch or so when they are down.

They're probably not copies. More likely they're just stock aerials at the end of their life. Mine was like that to start with, then I got a replacement (from Mittu ) which ddn't work at all. I managed to make a working one by scavenging parts from my 2 broken ones. Now I have unplugged it since I never listen to the radio and would rather have the aerial down while driving.

That’s exactly what I have done on the last 3 Toyota's I have had.

It gets SO frustrating having the blooming thing get stuck half way and then some irrk come and snap the sodding thing off before having the chance to degrease/regrease it to get it working again.

Lecky aerials are cool until they stop working. . . then they just become another pain in the proverbial!

In these modern times of RDS radios they are a pain full stop.

One of the earliest examples of stuff designed to cost you more when they break.

but as loosey says. leccy aerials are cool.
it has been that long since mine has worked. i am just listening to the same cd's over and over and over and over . no radio.

and

aesthetically i do think the aerials add a little je ne sais quois when they are up.
and when they go uup and down.
anything with a motor is cool.
mahender....

Sine i have an iPod with roughly 18 days of music on it (and only about 1% of that music will ever be on the airwaves) I don't need to worry too much about the radio :D

radio is poo nowadyays like sky. too many adverts but sometimes its good for a station too choose your tunes.
apart from they play them then play them agian about 40 mins later. and the cycle repeats daily.

as long as the aerial goes up and down.
