hi everyone,
my radiator has bust.
i know i said i didnt mind doing the jobs that were required but this has cheesed me off.

the top pipe offf the radiator has sanpped in hallf.( the bit that goes into the top hose)
the radiator is stilll in good nick and i was wondering is this a replacement rad or can i replace the top section of the rad.

If the 185 rad is the same construction as the 205 then the top tank is plastic so its not really possible to effectively repair it. I'd be surprised if someone on the DC, EC or OC forums doesn't have a spare rad they'd let you have for a nominal amount. I've got spare 205 rads but they are not suitable for the 185.

It maybe worth fitting a new rad rather than a secondhand unit?

If you were to replace the top tank then the lower tank and the core probably wouldn't thank you since they have seen several years service and heat cycles too...

Have you thought about the nice shiny Golpher radiator available for the 185? :)

I'd fit a new thermostat while you were replacing the radiator - they're only ~£15 new :)

thanks folks,
i am going to get a new thermostat kris also. i am going to follow your guide on your site.
money is a bit tight and i would like to get either new or uprated but as always the funds are minimal.
( there is always too much month left at the end of the money).
gonna ask TCB tomoro. any other suggestions or places to try wouls be appreciated.
kris do you have a link and price for the golpher rad.
