helloooo all.
is it ok to squirt some wd40 in my boost controller.
just had a thought about maybe the heat has stiffened it or dried it or something along them lines.

i was thinking about giving it a squirt with trusty wd?
thanks....

Mahender, WD40 will help to clean it, but you might want to use e.g. petrol instead to remove the oily deposits that are probably giving you boost issues? (especially with a Relief Valve)

I would recommend dismantling an RV as the ball bearing and seat should have the old oily deposits removed.

You might find that the deposists inside refuse to go with just rinsing, they'll probably require wiping to get rid of them?

Which style of MBC do you have?

I'd strip the controller down...having taken note of how many tyurns of thread are showing on the controller so you can reset the boost level pretty close to where it was before.

Believe this is to vent a small amount of air to allow a pressure differential to be experienced between the 2 sides of the ball bearing

As a point of note make sure you are careful when you dismantle it - the ball bearing and spring can fly out and get lost very easily!
