After getting new rubber all round today I have found that 2 of my wheels are quite badly damaged. At least one probably irreperably.

Blatantly caused by POTHOLES!!!!! :x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x

Where is the best (ie cheapest)place to get alloys without having to buy a full set?

I have found Performance Alloys but they certainly ain't cheap compared to the package deals most places do.

Anyone got any recommendations

(I fully plan to make a claim from the local council, but the less I spend the more likely it is that they will reimburse me)

Nip into your local vehicle repair shop and ask them. Most will be able to source individual wheels at cost prices. The promise of beer might help grease the process

I'll ask the old man next time I see him

HEY CANDYMAN.
DONT KNOW HOW FAR YOU GOT WITH TIS. BUT DONT SKIMP ON YOUR CLAIM. I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. AND WENt minimilast for the sake of them paying. ( anyhoos they paid me £550 plus 100 for the extra tyres i had to get for my old wheels.

they refer it to a solicitor then the solicitor will deal with you, but they will ask for pics of the offending (pothole)
send you a claim form to fill in wheres and whys. and ask for receipts. i claimed for a whole new set of wheels and the reimburesment for the new tyres i had to put back on my old wheels to put them on my car. i found a site in oldham which is quality. they had stock of my wheel but when they admitted liability eventually. i said i better check that the wheels are still available and if they werent i would want another similar [priced set. they said it was acceptable to do that.
so my opinion go for it mate. if you know someone with more expensive wheels then take a pic of them and say they are yours.

NOTE. the solicitor will check the place where you have seen your replacements.
