Is there a market for an ST205 aluminum radiator?
If one was available for about US$400 or GBP$200 shipped, would that be reasonable?

I'm asking because I'm having some ST165 aluminum radiators made. The manufacturer asked me about the ST205 but I'm in Canada and the 205 was never imported here.

OK, after a bit of searching I just found the comparison photos. Still, post up if you have any thoughts to add....

Not sure if the 205 would fit the 165, think this has been tried in the past - seem to remember some posts about it on here - bonnet clearance issues?

Here's some pics comparing the 165 and 205 radiators:

I've seen pics of someone modifying a 165 to accomodate a ST205 Koyo rad, but I wouldn't do such a thing to my car, complete front frame was grinded away to make space.. :?

Wether there is a market or not is a bit difficult - the Aluminium Koyo rad is already available and can usually be obtained for not "too" much hassle. These seem to retail for at around £250-£300 shipped to the UK.

I think the most important thing would be - is it better, or at least as good as the koyo which is a proven solution, it is critical that the thing fits correctly, the PACE rad above is a prime example - even though the company was given a stock rad to copy from they failed to produce a great item - the quality is good, but the design is poor.

Get the price right, ensure it fits and I think you would have lots of interest. :)

My 2p.

Golpher make an aluminium radiator for the 185 - not sure if this will be a closer for for the 165 rather than a 205 Koyo radiator?

I just had a Ron Davis Radiator made for my 185. Very nice quality. Cost including the disgusting Duty charge is ~750 shipped.

Its about 1 cm thicker than stock. And just by holding it up to my car i can see that all the mounts are in the exact place they should be. Comparing that to the 1500$ koyo rad for the 185, I'm happy :)

I'm sure Ron davis has the plans to make up one for the 165 Rick?
