I've still got the old topmounts from mutley (the st205 thats i have broken) i was wondering if they are TRD or not. Does anyone know if there are visual differences between standard and TRD versions?

Thanks all

Don't know if there is a visual difference Rob. If I were you I'd give Fennies a quick call. They should be able to say straight away.

HI Don, i went over there last night and had a look.. it appears that the rubber on the OEM topmounts is raised in a dome, whereas the TRD versions are concave.

So the ones i had were OEM - so i bought some nice TRD versions :-)

The rubber deforms as they get older and gradually ends up as a dome :(

I've never seen old rubber top mounts dome? Normally they eventually perish and crack. Sometimes rubber expands if its soaked in petrochemicals (fuel, oil etc.) so I guess this could cause skungy old top mounts to 'dome' :?:

Rob, if you get a chance to post up any pics of the TRD top mounts that would be good OR, even better, bring them along to the next dinner meet

I can vouch for the 'dome' appearance of older/worn top mounts; I have personally experienced it twice (once st162 and once st165) during celica ownership 8)
