Ok guys,
Just replacing teh brake discs on my ST185 and wondering whether to just junk teh dust shields whilst I am there. They look like they will not aid cooling and surely anything that gets in will get out. The car will be weekend fun & track so I think removing them will be safe (if not better)

Any thoughts??

Ditch them m8. They are only there to keep the worst of the water and road muck off. Also makes it easier to fit flexible ducting for cooling :D

Not really - I ahve left the shield in place for the hub joint (which seems to be integral to teh brake dust shield) & just cut the dust shields right back to the hub.

Unfortunately a dodgey wheel bearing stopped play so will have to get taht sorted before brakes are fitted.
