When i go on a "fun" drive i get an egg smell in the car, am i right in thinking that this is a sign the cat is knackered? its fine when normal driving, i did over 300 miles yesterday and didnt get any smell. |

Egg smell is definitely the cat. No two ways about it However, it does not necessarily mean it is knackered - yet There are generally two issues than cause this. Either the cat is running too cool (unlikely) or the car is overfuelling - quite likely Any other signs of overfuel? Do you have a dump valve? Beware. Once the cat starts to complain you don't have long to fix the root cause before it turns it toes up! |

Thats really strange as i say i have encountered this on a regular basis and havent had a cat in for years....although my car was set up with lots of fuel lol |

Eh??? Eggy smell is always from either a) Catalyst b) Last night's ruby and 4 pints of Grumblebelly's Aud Trouser Flapper Greg The knackered O2 might have drowned your cat in Optimax and done it damage You can't easily tell without an emissions test |

Im not argueing with your reasons or suggestions. All im saying is from personal experience ive have encountered the smell, not from the orofice you refer, from my car, with a decat in place.... You've got me Mat The egg smell is sulphur dioxide and AFAIK it's only a by product of the catalyst process If you've got no cat then I'm blowed if I can see where it comes from. Unless you've got a bit of broken off cat wedged somewhere lol I believe a 205 Aussie will fit a 185 though. Just has a spare stud hole |

Could it be either a clutch smell or from some sort of strange brake pads? The 165 with the Pagid pads occasionally smelt of bacon! |
