just tested my exhaust for pressure and got a reading of 3.25 psi :(
i am not sure of what the pressure should be but 3.25 seem veary high to me for what is basically a open ended bit of pipe

any advie of what it should be i thught around 1 to 1.5 max

measured where?

Pressure measured in the exhaust manifold it likely to be high due to the angry snail whirling away

Pre turbo scroll you will see incredibly high readings (on boost you could see a couple of bar or so = 30 psi ish plus)

Post turbo the lower the better - I have no idea on actual numbvers but 3.25psi is in keeping with what I would expect post turbo.

I wodul suggest you really need to be measuring thsi after turbo and before any possible restriction such as a silencer or cat - best place for you to diagnose woudl therefore be bottom of the downpipe assuming you no longer have a cat m8. This really needs to be logged on a full chat blast also to see peak at high rpm & boost.

Never thought about measuring exhaust pressure :? The other week when the Elise was being mapped there was enough exhaust thrust (i.e. flow) to spit the lambda sensor out of the tail pipe....cured by Steve placing a large weight on the stand/bracket holding the sensor

Don etc,
It is measured (or should be) during turbo design to define the limits of the turbine housing/wheel flow. There is a magic ratio of what pressure should not be seen turbine pressure/boost pressure.

Magic Ratio? I would have thought that the post-turbine pressure should be as close to zero as possible otherwise the turbine performance will be strangled to some degree.
