Good move going with the MoteC! If you want to compare notes on maps, settings etc. give me a shout. Who's doing your mapping?

BTW Kris good info on the oil pressure regulator.

Will do don, wont be until mid part of next year when it all comes together, the "build" is including several upgrades at once all requiring custom fitting in alot of places.

I was thinking of getting fennies to map it to start with then was thinking Bob Rawle of BR developments.

not sure yet, to far in the future.

Sorry ive broken posting rules and gone off topic. Ill post this as the start of a new thread :D

AFAIK there are still only a handful of Four's running MoTeC's. Most of them BIG horsepower like Fennies Corolla, ST205, ST185 and Ian Ashton's sadly missed ST205.

I'm sure Adrian would do a good job but AFAIK he does most or all of his mapping on the road. Every engine, even if built to the same spec, requires slightly different maps. To be fair, he does offer RR tuning as an option and I think he uses Clive Atthowe's facilities in Norwich. I've heard that the Corolla is putting out so much power now that the rollers exceed their calibration limits

I'm a big believer in a mix of RR and road mapping so you get the best of both worlds. Thats why I use Mark Harrison at Owen Developments and would recommend them to anyone thinking of going MoTeC on a 3S-GTE. I've now got my MoTeC giving me a brilliant mix of power, torque AND economy (29-30mpg). It took a few re-maps to get it fully sorted and the whole exercise hasn't been cheap but I'm glad I took the plunge.

If anyone else has experience or knowledge of RR mappers, particularly wrt MoTeC it would be good to hear of them.

We used to use them for RR meets and they certainly do MoTeC mapping on Impreza's. We stopped using them when they lost interest in the RR meets. Might be OK one-on-one?

I've always found them to be very good, I can understand the RR meets though as so many clubs started to use them & they found that most of the weekends were taken up just doing RR's.

Off the top of my head there are 2 guy's down who are very good MoTecers, but that was near on 2 years ago so things might have changed, might be worth seeing what they are about now & a discount for block bookings??, mind you it is a bit of a hike though to be honest.
