Dont the rebore people have a plate? If they dont, are you sure you want them to do the work?

Are there any other suggestions on where to go ?

I've never had much response from people when I've asked in the past so I was going to try the place Terry works.

Lend = borrow

Hire = borrow for money.

copied from another forum :-

Torque plate honing involves installing a 1-2" steel plate on the block in place of the cylinder head to simulate the cyliner wall distortion the block sees when the heads are installed. By honing the block while similar stresses are applied, you insure the hole will be round when the heads are installed. It provides for a better ring seal on performance motors. Is it totally neccessary? No, however, it is a must in my mind on any good performance buildup. It is worth the extra $75 or so you will pay. Hope this helps.

Problem is a specific 3SGTE torque plate is required... not many places will have one of those on the shelf.

IIRC Datajon made a torque plate, maybe worth contacting him?

Surely it would be better to machine some big holes in a knackered head to use as a torque plate?
