Oil pump is sump off, not so horrific in a 185. I very much doubt the oil pump is at fault. The oil feeds tend to end up flattened by repeated bending to fit, saying that I seem to remember a post somewhere saying that even new ones are fairly flat.

New ones do have a flat where the bend is.

Clive had a turbo oil feed thread issue a while back from memory - could this be linked or is this just the usual turbo company list of faults with your turbo every customer gets?

Ah so the oil pump is manageable with the eng in situ ?
Hmm yes all the past points could be responsible and whats done is done. The most important thing is learning and not repeating .
So, what to do next ? Drop the sump and inspect, fit new end shells, good flush and fit new pump ?
Question time... would failing tubby oil seals cause oil pressure to fall/decrease on tickover ? Reason for question is, on my journey to the ace cafe idling oil press in traffic was around 20psi or thereabouts. On the return at basingstoke it was just in the red on the gauge (just below 10psi) so falling :( ? Oil/water levels remained good and no sign of use or leaks.

When I read the AET response yesterday it did seem like a pretty standard response having seen quite a few turbo reconditioners feedback over the years. Makes it kinda difficult to separate actual facts from the disclaimers :?
