As above, hit a curb at low speed and lost 5th and reverse. Think its the synchro in 5th as I can select it but engine revs like it was in neutral but it won't even go into reverse no metter how hard I pull. Any help would be greatly appreciated... :(

Possibly dislodged a cable slightly

Difficult one to diagnose. Get someone to operate the gearstick while you observe the selectors on top of the gearbox. You should be able to get a reasonable idea from looking at the clean areas of the shaft whether you are getting the full travel although it's not the easiest area to see

If everything looks ok then I'm going to guess you have dislodged something internal. Fifth gear (and reverse IIRC) are located right on the end of the box. If you remove the nearside wheel you can see a cover on the end of the gearbox. Remove that and see if anything looks amiss in there

Thanks so much bud! Genuinely just stopped a full blown panic attack not to mention a few scars from the missus beating me like a lame mule! Near side is drivers side yea? I am an American so not sure if it's same or if it swaps sides

Nearside is the side nearest to the kerb, i.e. passenger side. I hope it swaps sides from America, or you'll be having a few accidents

As Steve says, first check the travel on the selectors going in. It's not unknown to lose a C clip that holds the cable outer onto the bracket on the gearbox.

if it comes to it, 5th gear can be accessed with the gearbox still in situ ;)
