I seem to have a problem now and again starting my car after a drive.

Normally happens in a very busy area (petrol station normally) after I've driven normally or hard makes no difference.

Basicly cars turned off, then when I go to restart I get one crank and then she goes dead, completely cut out!

Battery has enough voltage and shes always charged (never taken on short journeys) and the problems intermittent. Sometimes does it sometimes doesn't.

I normally push car out the way, wait 5 mins or so then she bursts back into life! Weird!

Any ideas?

I was going to ask that

It's quite likely the starter motor but could be the classic corroded fuse box

Sorted it!

Battery!

after measuring voltage it was fine, but only had 200cranking amps. So bought a new one with a crisp 500 amps and it started straight away!

Easy fix but not what I need before christmas forking out on new batteries!

Bad day for me as that was this morning, then when I got home I had one of those parking tickets that read your plate on entry and exit and they want £70 for an apparent 5hr stay on their property which is a load of s##t and completely inaccurate, as I entered the carpark twice in one day but its recorded me entering, but not exiting. Then not entering, but exiting 5 hours later!!

Arrrggghhhh! Stupid technology!

Battery doesn't fit the symptoms, more likely a bad connection.

Re. the parking ticket, there are a lot of scams out there. Most parking tickets on private land are unenforcable, motorway services included.
As far as I'm aware, it comes under contract law as they display a sign which says something along the lines of 'by entering this car park you are agreeing to a contract with the following terms:'. Under contract law, the maximum they can claim is 'reasonable losses' resulting from the breech of contract. The most this can be is loss of income due to the space being occupied, and even then they would need to show they lost business as a result of the space being occupied.

Well I did think it was starter motor as a guy in the shop said he used to fry his from the shear heat due to it being turbo car (he was talking about rs2000).

Battery doesn't fit symptoms as normally a dead battery struggles to crank, whereas this cranks once then kinda clicks and stops dead. Lights on dash go out when cranking or holding ignition on but return on after.

Do they normally go out when cranking, Can't remember now ? If not, I'd say bad connection on a battery terminal (or wiring if you have a relocation)

I would guess at a battery terminal a bit loose or corroded then. Either that or a poor joint near the battery that was disturbed when it was changed.
