Hi folks,

is there any easy way to tell if a wing mirror I have is folding or not? Its off the car at the moment but I bought it from ebay and not sure if its from a UK car or a JDM car?

I don't want to put a heavy folding one on my UK model. :)

Cheers.

If you have a non folding one to compare with I would suggest either a set of kitchen scales OR see how many wires come out of it.

According to the circuits, the adjusting part has 3 wires.
Colours:
LHS - LG-R, BR-Y, BR-W
RHS - LG-R, LG-B,LG

LG = Light green
BR = Brown
R = Red
Y = Yellow
W = white
B = black

First part - main colour, second is lengthways tracer.

4 or more wires would indicate folding mirrors.

p.s. unless it has heated mirrors. I have these on a cct for the 185. Wires colours are the same for the mirror control, heaters are B and W-B.
I would expect folding mirrors to need at least 3 more wires rather than just 2 for heating.
