I hear a lot of this with boot relocations but mine is not far from the original location just on the other side.
Its starting to sound quite common and I don't think it's the battery.
My battery is nearly new and I I've had it on a conditioner all weekend and it's in good condition.
I remembered this happening last year and changing the battery made no difference.
All my connections are clean and unless I actually weld or solder the connections, I don't think it can be any better.

If you have checked all the connections then the next option is a starter. They do occasionally fail like this

Whereabouts are the Earth connections from the battery going ?

It's not unknown for people to earth to a point that doesn't have a good connection to body / engine.

You should have a heavy Earth to engine. (I'd guess that's where the big cable goes I can see). I usually put this under a starter mounting bolt. (This one takes starting, charging and ECU current)
You should also have a reasonable size Earth to body. This one carries current to Lighting, heaters, fans, stereo etc.

Also, what method have you used to splice the new + connection to the old one.

how do I check the starter motor?
Earth goes to the gearbox earth point same as origional, to alternator, 2 more to the body.
Not sure what you mean by what mothod? The copper cables are crimped to copper eyelets which are insulated and bolted down to bare metal surfaces.

I did say the + connection. i.e. where you joined your new positive cable to the old one where the battery used to be.

Also, double check for signs of overheating on all the crimp connections (melted / discoloured insulation. Discoloured / oxidised copper).

yeah I checked them 2 days ago and it all looks gteat. I amnprety confident in the cablingand quite convinced its a faultnin something else.
Aside from the starter moter, could the dizi cap be of a cause?

Other possibility is a high resistance joint or contact in the signal wire to the starter, possibly the switch itself.

If you have a multimeter and are able to do some tests while the fault is reliably repeated, then the fault can be diagnosed.

Otherwise, I would try another starter as a first shot.

This is just a suggestion but I would rotate the battery 180 degrees and connect the earth to the alternator bracket using the spare bolt hole in the top

As it is you have pretty much the same cable length as putting it in the boot

No way. My earth to alternator is about a feet long only?

This morning was a bit interesting and again different.
Turned key and held it there and then slowly
bop.....
bop bop......
bop bop bop.....
bop bop bop bop then slowly picked up in pace

*bleep*??? It's like my engine is hibernating and doesn't want to go work with me?

Ah, I missed the additional small cable off the battery negative. I would still be tempted though

Does that mean it was turning, but slowly ?
