Does anyone happen to have a picture of the rear diff housing bolts so I can identify them? I have a huge bag of bolts fresh from the zinc platers and no idea where they all go....well some of them.

Do you mean the bolts that hold on the rear cover to the housing?

I have a diff in the garage - will take a picture.

Just been out to have a look at the diff - It was covered in snow (behind not in the garage!)

The bolts are a 14mm flange head and shouldn't be more that 30-35mm long. There is 8 of them.

Here is a pic from Kris's website

and pic that I took this morning

Hope that helps :)

Will have to collect together another load to go now.

That's annoying!

Would you mind posting up a picture of a bolt that you've had replated? Seems like a good solution for used bolts.

Wow they look awesome.

So those were all rusty things taken from the bottom of the car? Would you mind me asking what you paid?

Presumably they had to be blasted and then coated?

There is a mix of under car bolts and interior nuts and bolts. I wire brushed each one individually by hand (i kid you not) but they said I didnt need to bother, they dip them in acid or something to remove the rust, then plate them. I will be sending them a set of rusty bolts next to see how they compare.

That little lot cost me £30.

Hmm...

Annoyed now :)

I didn't bother with this on my rebuild partly through ignorance and I didn't realise that such good results were possible.

Oh well i know for the future :)

I am impressed with the results, I didnt think they would come up so well, very rust bolts still have a bit of a rough surface from pitting, non rusty bolts have come up very well in deed, almost better than new. I will be getting every single nut and bolt done although some i will replace with stainless bolts. I will be getting small pieces done to, not just nuts and bolts, brackets, possibly even hinges too.

£30 for that lot, well impressed with the results you have there, should keep the rust worm at bay for a while?

And a lot cheaper than buying new :D
