Want to know where I can get myself a set of these so I can run more boost and make more horses
Currently stuck at 1.6bar, like to get close to 2bar

I suspect Adrian @ Fensport or possibly Tim @ TBDevelopments would be a good place to start

Certainly not the sort of thing you buy on eBay!

I think you can get these from a couple places in the US as well, try a google.

Keep in mind that they require special treatment like no exposure to air etc.

Tops has a similar spec to yours - and on race fuel made 720bhp.
How long it will last at that level is another matter

*bleep*! how are you meant to fit them, in a diving suit in an argon filled room?

Whilst they may be top danglies I think this is getting to serious professional race engine build practice.

Jeff - Is this a headlift issue the L19 is supposed to overcome?

You can fit them in a normal place ie in the air. But they suffer from hydrogen embrittlement which means you cant have them hanging around too long out of their packet before they are installed.

What also isn't clear to me is if they will suffer any damage over time after installation.

They look far too race orientated to me, one of the reasons I decided not to go for them. Although I guess at 2bar of boost the engine isn't going to be lasting 100k miles so it probably isn't anything to worry about.

After installation they remain protected by the special assembly paste which is custom blended from powdered unicorn horn, mermaids tears and rocking horse poo

Yes, supposed to.
But do 3SGTE's suffer from headlift, and at what boost pressure is this likely to happen?

to be fair my brother runs stock arp bolts... the turbo is not the size of yours but he runs upto 2.1bar through the 3071 and its done over 10k miles not a problem..

I have heard of a couple of cars where at around 2 bar they suffered headlift. Now this could be a symptom of many other issues as well as head studs such as poor mating surfaces between head/gasket/block, incorrect install procedure for std ARP hardware (re-torque after xxx miles IIRC to account for stretch and once the head/block & ARPs have been pre-stressed) and excessive detonation during mapping or after mapping.

Are the Std ARP bolts insufficient for the purpose at this level? No idea but I would guess human error (or ignorance) by engine builder/mapper is more likely.

Lets see how it goes with the std arps then. May go up to 2bar and well - see how things go ;)

I have engine ive built running over 600bhp on gt35 at 2.1bar on stock arp studs without issues I really do believe a lot is down to the engineering, anybody can build an engine but the build is only as good as how it starts i.e. the engineering then the builder can make a difference
