Well, after some research and annoying lots of auto shops I have found a reasonably priced decent quality set of CV boots for the rear shafts. Believe it or not Halfords have a suppliers from a company called shaftec, what is labelled as the front CV boot actually fits both the inner and outer rear CV joints. You need to look for Shaftec BK35 they are £13 each.

Excellent info - when you've fitted them could you update so we know they are definitely right?

Sounds very reasonable though.

I have been made aware of a problem....the inside rear CV boot needs to fit the odd shaped inner CV joint end bit, its kind of triangle shaped so needs a proper square CV boot. The one i fitted does fit but apparently fails quite quickly......bugger...will have to take it off and fit it to the outer CV joint.

Martin told me Blue print part number ADT 38159 fits, a bit more expensive at £28 ish but still a decent price

Made such experiences in the past too, so I decided to buy original parts from my local Toyota dealer. Freaky epensive as I´ve payed 446 € for all 8 including grease and clamps but they will last the next decades...

German phrase: If You´re buying it cheap You´ll buy it twice.

I've had 3 stretchy boots on outer CVs on the 185 for ummmmmm 8 years. No failures yet, no sign of failure imminent. QH boots IIRC. Easy to fit, just cut a piece of plastic dryer ducting with about 8 V's so the "fingers" all fold into the centre, lube it up with a bit of engine oil and slip it over. Doesn't look like it'll work, but it does. Split boots fail almost instantly because you really struggle to keep the area clean enough for a decent bonding - I think that's why they went out of fashion.

Well I fitted the Blueprint rear inner CV boots at the weekend and I must say I am impressed with the quaility, they fit perfectly, nice and snugg. Just waiting on a couple of snap rings to lock the outer CV joint in place and I will be good to go for the rear drive shafts, in fact i will ba able to start putting the rear sub frame back together :)

total price for the two rear inner CV boots was £75.......who's idea was it to rebuild a car eh! bloomin expensive.
