I am at the stage now where I am putting the rear sub frame back together. but I have forgotten where everything goes?!!!!

The rear diff carrier, that bolts to the sub frame,

does anything go between it and the sub frame or does it bolt directly to it?

Also the long bolts (possibly the longest bolts on the car) that bolt these two together, It shows on the EPC the bolts going down, would it not be better for the bolts to go up?

and lastly, the big flat plain washer on the top, does that have that smaller castelated rubber/metal washer below it?

Hi Nial,

There is a small castellated rubber washer thing that sits between the two.

If you have a look on page 9 of my build thread there are a couple of photos that might be useful.

With regards to the bolts I generally thought that if a bolt can go downwards then it should as if the nut comes loose at least gravity won,t make the bolt fall out!

Cheers for that. I agree with the bolt down thing, but I can't find evidence of a washer for the bottom which it looks like it could do with.

Correct for track cars. With Rally cars bolts normally go upwards so there's less to get caught on rocks / trees etc.

In the case of bolts holding something up, a nut coming off has the same result either way round.
