The rear hub after 2 days in Deox C, straight out of the bath, no wire brushing yet

Image

As you can see there are one or two patches of rust remaining, I am going to leave it in for a third night and take a wire brush to it tomorrow.

I left the bearing in just on case the Deox C attacked the bearing area, it dosnt seem to bother good metal so I could have taken the bearings out.

What concentration of the fluid are you using? So I know how much to buy :)

Thats one whole bottle of Deox C Crystals, the bin is about 1/4 full of water.

Its roughly 1 part deox C to 20 parts water. You could make it more concentrated if you wanted.

when you mix it though, use boiling water, in works better, works quickly too when its still warm.

I have just ordered some more of the Deox C and some of the Deox Gel to try. I will be de-rusting some swing arms so will post photos as they are in worse condition than the hubs.

Opie Oils have a 15% off offer on at the moment. (thats not easy to say :) )

You are of course correct. But the gel should be arriving on my doorstep in a day or so :) so I will do a review on that too. :)

Just ordered some of this stuff and the gel for myself.

Now need to find something rusty to try it on.

Only wish I had discovered this before I did my hubs etc :(

Oh well :)
