Yes it is, good stuff but a bit expensive, I am going to try Eastwood chassis black extreme next as its a little cheaper.

Deox-C is good stuff, I used it when I refurbished the rear track control arms on my old mr2. I don't know if you have investigated electrolytic rust removal but I find that better on large parts (where you'd need an enire tub of the Deox to dilute a full bucket of water!)

Be sure to keep the POR-15 out of the runner in the top of the paint tin - mine has totally sealed itself inside now - I have to drill a small hole in the top of the can whenever I want to use some!

I put a layer of plastic under the lid on the POR15, makes it easy to remove. I also use small tins too, which I use in more or less one painting session.

I too will vote for electrolisis.

Recently have started phosphoric acid which is very good as well. Both much cheaper that deox-c and better performing imo.

All these easy de-rusting ways sure beat physical means of rust removal.

Some great results for the Deox C over on the Celica Club, someone has done some discs with great results.

The good thing about Deox C is that it's not harmful, you can work without gloves, it's bio degradeable and not to harsh on old Mother Nature.

I need to make another batch up, although the previous one was still working, the time it needed to so it's job was taking longer and longer.

I've found that if you dont take the time and trouble to remove the worst of the corrosion then most derusting solutions are rarely a permanent fix. I havent had time to test the latest refurb of my C-One ARB's but I'm hoping that it lasts a few years since I really went to town with the wire wheel, POR15 and etch primer before giving them four coats of Plastikote. Fingers crossed!

Helicopter tape on the portion that goes through the mounts is the only hope for ARBs Don. And/or regular strip/grease maintenance
I fear anything less will be worn away double quick. I put 3 or 4 coats on mine from brand new and it still rusted around the mounts

Sounds like a very sensible idea that Steve to tape the ARB bar where it mounts in the polybush.

I'm going to test mine this week.

I have to say from the above that the electrolysis process (which I have done a lot of) doesn't give as good a surface finish. With that process the surface ends up black afterwards and you have to paint/treat quickly or it rusts again.

Just to update this - I was impressed by the pictures that Nial has posted up, but seeing the results in the flesh... This stuff is really something, it works very well.

Its even rescued some scrap rear alignment bolts that I had lying around. I just really wished I had found this product before I started my project.

I'm hand tempted to take the back of the car apart again just to properly derust the last few nuts and bolts that only got the wire brush this time!

The gel is also quite good - not as good as the solution but far better than any gel I have used in the past.

I can vouch for this too having seen the parts Mike has treated.

Just ordered a tub of the Deox C in preparation for some autumn/winter refurbishing. Mainly for the smaller parts that will fit in a small plastic bath. I seem to have accumulated a large number of 3S-GTE engine and accessory support brackets made out of 'solid heavy' When I refurbed the C-One ARB's I used a wire wheel on a power drill but the amount of rust dust was unbelievable and it covered everything in the workshop. Cleaning the place up afterwards was a real chore :-( The Deox C should fix that problem! I agree with Steve that the larger items like subframes should go to the pro's for media blasting and powder coating. I suppose I could try attacking it with Deox Gel but that seems too much like hard work.
