Hi all

my car recently failed the MOT due to the front washer pump not working

i have been looking around for a replacement and the only one i can really find is this one below

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160841315949? ... 26_rdc%3D1

i spoke the guy of the ebay shop and he said that it should fit

just wondered what you good people here recommend as some of you have probably had this
problem yourself at some point

thanks

paul

not had a failure on my ST185s yet... but read of a few givimg up the ghost on the ST205 etc

looking at google: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=celic ... 93&bih=479

and ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... asher+pump

and comparing with the OEM design, brand new pattern parts can be bought for as little as £5 - £10 ;)

£30 is way expensive!

The standard pump drives both front and rear washers, according to which pins are driven - hence 3 pins.

If you want to avoid buying a standard pump, you will need either an aftermarket 3 pin / dual pump and then mess about with plumbing OR 2 single pumps wired to the original 3 pin connector, and again mess about with plumbing.

Easiest option is to get a secondhand or new pump. Worth a phone call to TCB

i had a another quick look and couldn't find a cheaper 3 pin pump... so your initial research now looks like a very attractive proposition to me.

nb: The genuine Toyota item from TCBparts is £76.99 +VAT! lol
