Years ago I bought a replacement standard rad from TCB. What came was a Koyo and it was identical in everyway to the OEM rad except for the printed part number on the top. That lead me to believe that Koyo make the OEM rads for Toyota.

I wonder if they have changed supplier or you just got a dodgy one.

This website doesn't host pictures so whatever happened must have done elsewhere on wherever you were linking the pictures from.

Should do - I only see one picture in this thread which is of a liquid metal tube and package.

Which post do you think the pictures were in?

To be fair to TCB, the time to contact them is when the problem first happens not after you've pulled it apart and covered it in glue, then waited another 6 months. They would certainly not be able to get a refund from their supplier at that stage.

very true. I was impatient. (it was my daily drive at the time) Just annoyed its happened again for the 3rd time and that the fact that there were another issue with it.
I did point out to him in the beginning on the conversation that I was not after or expecting a refund after my repairs. :)

Sounds like you spoke to the wrong person. Your best bet is to print the relevant pages from the EPC and then front up at the parts counter making sure you speak with the stores supervisor not the casual help. Many parts for the ST205 and other GT-Fours have been superseded by part numbers from later models. This is certainly the case with the tail lift gas struts. I'd think that the rad may also be a Caldina/Avensis part. I have yet to fail to source parts for my ST205 from Toyota. They sometimes have to order them from the main European parts distribution warehouse in Belgium or even air freight from Japan. Toyota GB doesn't carry much in stock.

cheers. I once tried to purchase the WRC heat shield strip (goes between antilag pipework and heat shield) and was told it is no longer stocked too.
Strange though as I deal with Clive at Westover Toyota and he knows his way round the system WAY better than the others there. I usually order parts over the phone just by describing them as he gets it right every time. ;)

come to think of it, it wasn't clive I spoke to on the phone in relation to the radiator availability....

Clive is definately the one to talk to.
