Worth checking error codes as a first step.

http://www.gt4dc.co.uk/info/howto/ecu/e ... _codes.htm

Fuel pump should be 12V ish or at idle / light load a resistor is swited in series which will drop it to about 8-10V

Have you recently disconnected the battery? If so, you need to take it for a decent drive for the ECU to re-learn idle point.
Also, check battery is holding voltage

yeah have tried that and brand new battery,it almost seems like its either flooding as i leave it for 20 mins it starts trouble is it does it with cold engine or warm engine and sometimes not at all.earlier i cleaned battery terminals stopped and stared 10 times in a row went for long drive started stopped ok got home stopped started ok stopped again wouldnt start now got bald patches as pulling hair out llol

If you have an immobiliser fitted, these are renowned for having a relay contact fail and intermittantly prevent running.

Also, have a look at the following thread, the ECU is under the dash behind the centre console, pull back the carpet that sticks up on each footwell to access. This is now a VERY common problem on RC & CS models - worth a look and if you find one or both capacitors has leaked it can be repaired by a local electronics place or I can do it. IMO worth changing them anyway before they damage the board (they only cost pennies).

One of the prime symptoms. If you don't have or know a decent electronics place locally I can do it remotely by post or I come down to Newquay fairly frequently if you're anywhere near there.
Once you have symptoms, there's normally tracks to repair / bridge as well as just replacing the capacitors.
