Hi everyone,

As above really I've just refitted a standard st205 cat to my car for the MOT (passed! Wohoo) but when I brought the cat it didn't come with any of the standard cast iron support brackets or the heat shields...what's the risk of running like this for a while as my decat down pipe has a few cracks in it!

Under bonnet temps seem okay at the moment but I'm just worried about the stress of the heavy cat on the turbo??

Thank you!!

Heatshield probably won't be a problem, but the CAT is far heavier than a downpipe and I would be worried about the stress it's imparting on the exhaust manifold without the support brackets in place.

IF you have the support bracket under the turbo I would be less worried. My 205 has been like this for a couple of years (185cat) but the car is 99% gentle driving on lpg
