Hi

Guys i need your help. I have ST205 WRC edition with VIN ST2050001676 import from Japan. It is a perfect car but with Right Hand Drive. As I’m living in Bulgaria i want to switch the car to LHD but i need Part 44250-20700 (GEAR ASSY, POWER STEERING(FOR RACK & PINION))

I ask in toyota and they told me that this part is not producing any more. I cannot use the GEAR ASSY from ST202 or other celica should be from ST205 only.

Any ideas.

Regards
Svetlin

You could get a second hand one from Mark (Nokia Aid) here in the UK:
http://www.st205parts.co.uk/
Post and packing may be high!

Sorry I didn't see your picture.

Getting hold of a LHD steering rack in the UK is going to be virtually impossible I would have thought.

Have you tried on the http://www.gtfour.ch website?

Also a search on the ToyoDIY website would indicate that any LHD Celica rack will fit so you could use one from an ST202 or an AT200 see here:

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/xref?s=44250-20700&mU=on&mE=on&mJ=on&mG=on

Hope that helps.

When you say Toyota no longer have the part was this your local Toyota dealer in Bulgaria? Here in the UK if they don't have the part in stock they can either get the part from the main Toyota parts warehouse in Belgium overnight or order from Japan which takes about 7-10 days max. Just wondering if you had checked out all of these options? Toyota are very good with spares af least for the ST205. It's only the older models that are a problem.

I would imagine it should be possible to get hold on one from the US the Celica was popular over there and many ST202s were sold.

Of all Dutch conversions I know of, this has always been a problem. Some guys got one from the dealer for roughly 1k€.
