I would be very wary unless the vendor can categorically confirm it's the plastic headed part.

My guess is a one size fits all part will be the sub optimal Windy Miller metal headed part

All the pumps Ive been looking at say they use metal prop. I'll just go for the £40 TCB part. :)

Hang on Steve, just re-read your post.. Are you saying the plastic one is the one to get? My pump on the block at the moment is a metal part....

I'm guessing Steve is getting mixed up with water pump.

The last genuine Toyota part I bought was plastic. If you dig out my rebuilding a st215 engine thread you'll see the difference. The 205 housing is engineered for the plastic pump wheel and has clearances to suit. Will the metal one work - yes. Will it work optimally - probably not

So all the talk I've been seeing about plastic water pumps being inferior is a load of $hite??

go one then. who is going to volunteer to measure flow rate/pressure between a fitted plastic vs metal bladed water pump.... (snigger)
