Honing is not done by the home mechanic... take it to a machine shop

Take it this is a "quick repair" to a damaged engine?

Measure the bores with a bore gauge (further down cylinder where the wear is ). From my fairly limited experience anything .05 to .1 mm oversize is much more prone to ringland failure.
if you're looking for a quick cheap fix you may be better leaving the scores as you get very little blow-by down a narrow scratch.

if you're running big power you need to.do it properly.

As above take it to a machine shop its not something to take on lightly as it controls oil usage, etc as well as other things mentioned.

I have built hundreds of engines and I still prefer to pay my machinist to hone my engines for the cost its not worth the mess of the cooling fluid and the cost of the correct honing stone, etc
