I have heard that sills from a 1990's transit are workable, but they are rusty beasts and those sills will run out soon too :(

Sills are fairly easy things to alter curves on to get a match - bend gently over a gas bottle or similar long cylinder. For my recent MR2 refurb I used a nissan micra sill I had lying about, took very little to get a perfect match.

You don't need to replace an entire sill normally, as long as you cut off beyond any rust then butt-weld in a new section that has been carefully shaped and cut to fit exactly.

TCB parts offered me a full pair of sills cut off a good body inner and outer for a good price, I would have gone for it, but I noticed rust in other places which was to much for me to deal with, and to expensive to have the work done, so mine had to go :-(

I have also heard that the Transit sills are a good starting point for replacements, but I do not have any clue myself.

Best to ask TCB Gary, as what was available then may not be available now?

All I can say was, I was happy with the price, but backed out when I found more rot in a lot of other areas.

Thanks to Trevor, Paul and the team at TCB for being so understanding, but they still have to support my two ST205's along with Dan's ST205 (My son)

Keep up the great work at TCB, not an advert from me, but I appreciate their commitment :D
