Hi guys currently I'm in the process of fitting new superstrut parts shocks and springs and plan to get wheel alignment done after. I was just wondering what is adjustable on the st205 on the front and rear(camber caster and toe) and if camber bolts are a good solution if I can't get enough camber?
Thanks

Probably bugger all as it will all be seized lol

If your on stock susperstrut theres just toe adjustments front via steering rack arm adjustments and rear via what I call cam adjusters at the subframe end of the arm, these are seized on 80% of the cars I work on although them numbers are getting less and less as I work my way through them all

So no camber or caster adjustment mate? Have you heard of camber or crash bolts being used to alter camber? I have read about it but don't know how effective they are and was wondering if someone had any advice on the matter

Fensport do 'camber plates' for the 205.

You may be able to get a little camber adjustment on the rear by slacking off the 2 hub to strut bolts. You certainly can if you slot them a little. You do need to make sure they are done back up tight though.

Thanks mate I was hoping to find a cheaper way than camber plates because I'm a bit tight lol. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has used camber bolts and can't find the information I need. Thanks for the help mate.

If you're fitting new superstrut parts then your camber should be within the OEM tolerance unless the chassis is damaged. Of course if you want to change from the stock settings then you will have to fit either adjustable top mounts or the dreaded camber bolts (you'll guess I'm not a fan!) If you do run more negative front camber then you may well experience accelerated tyre wear on the inside shoulder.

FFS don't encourage him. He's already an XXXXXXL crash hat size. Any more cranial swelling and it'll be time for one of those old diving suit jobs

There is no such thing as camber bolts for superstrut. It's not physically possible due to the design. It's adjustable top mounts or Fensport plates only
At the rear they are a possibility

I think the dislike comes from the fact that many of the offset bolt type basically mean a reduced thread size holding the wheel onto the car. A distinctly sub optimal solution.

Thanks mate I suppose I won't bother with them then. Seems a bit poor that only toe is adjustable but ip just have to accept it lol. It hardly seems worth the hassle getting it done just for toe. Does the car benefit greatly from a bit camber?

I wouldn't skip getting the toe checked otherwise you might end up scrubbing your tyres and ruining them. If you really want to adjust the front camber then I'd suggest you pick up a pair of adjustable top mounts. They do come up for sale second-hand from time to time. However, I'm not sure you'd notice much difference in the handling with different camber settings. The Four is a big heavy saloon car not a single-seater so its not very sensitive to suspension tweaks ;-)

slight hijack of thread, but my 185 runs through tyres on inside edge, and am in process of buying new rubber on each corner then getting it all tracked and set up, so is there anything i can do to ensure this doesnt keep happening?

Don't go to a tyre place to set wheel alignment. Getting it spot on isn't in their best interest.

im getting it 4wheel aligned via a state of the art thingy, rather than tracked with lazer hangers. It will do everything aparently, but costs 30 per axle.

I don't think that's a problem so long as you get the before and after printout from the laser alignment system. I also usually speak with the guy doing the work and watch if possible. It's pretty hard for them to fake the settings if you do that.
