one hell of a saving, if they are good then its worth it.

That price would only just buy 1 arm and a fig 8 here

No experience, but I would personally not fit them even if offered free unless I was 100% certain what was done to 'refurbish' the ball joints and that it did not weaken the structure of the arm in any way.
Banana arm, no problem as worst case failure will lead to a wheel hitting an arch but still pointing the same direction, ditto fig 8 joint. Bottom arm is another matter though, as breakage would lead to one wheel pointing off to the side and either launch the car into oncoming traffic or up on the pavement and the driver unable to do a thing.

I can't see any reason why it would effect the strength in any way as far as I can see all he would have done is pull them out or drill in from the back and push them out and then press new ball joints in and secure them. In all honesty I have no idea why people haven't yet figured out how to do something similar by themselves so far. I will inspect them when I see them and let yous know what I see. Does anyone have ther own theories on what he might have done to refurbish these? I would ask him but highly doubt he will tell me his secret here

If you take a set of arms to your local engineering company and ask them to
1) mill out the back of the balljoint housing (a black and Decker ain't gonna get the baby bathed)
2) machine New balls and tapered shafts
3) machine New inserts
4) re anneal the arms post machining
5) rebuild the arms
6) Guarantee the arms are as good as New

Then you'll beat a hasty path to Toyota to take the cheap option.

There's a boat load of machining setup work and r&d work to be done. That doesn't come for free.
Now if an enterprising company decides to eat that upfront cost to produce a marketable product it is viable

I would want to know exactly how they are refurbished. I suspect new balljoints have been designed and are fitted by re injection moulding new seats for them. If that is the case then I would consider them for sure

On the other hand some backstreet place in umgo bongo land could be injecting a bit of resin into the old worn joint which will last long enough for the customer to leave positive feedback or worse still machine the arm out to accept an alternative 'off the shell' joint leaving a much weakened arm, knowing full well their own laws will prevent comeback from the ensuing accidents and deaths.

As i said earlier, i would want to know more before fitting or even buying the safety critical ones.g.

You don't mean that little garage way down deep in the middle of the Congo do you?

I thought they had been shut down after that whole thing where they were buying cheap high mile peanuts and reshelling them into cashews. Not to mention the shrunken head scam where they were actually selling coconuts that had just had a respray
If it is them then no, I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft poison dart blowpipe!

Shells another "cashew" and glances sadly at his shrunken head
