Hi guys hopefully someone here can help shed some light over this.
Right basically after replacing both dash loom(friend got happy with wire cutters :@) and engine loom. (That had few gremlins) my car has decided to not want to start...
She has fuel as spark plugs get wet.... Spark on all for... Good spark. After replacing dead distributor... Now she cranks an cranks and cranks an cranks... But won't start.. Timing hasn't been change and the only things that's been changed is car was stripped to repaint looms replaced various pipes that were removed have all gone back to same place 2 ecu's have been tried and same symptom... So anyone got any ideas of what to check before she just ends up getting left. :/ she was a daily and started every Time first crank aswell... Any help would be appreciated :)

First step would be to check error codes. This may show up incorrect sensors.

Are you certain the looms were from the same age & spec of car. There were several variants and ages with different ECU pinouts.

If it has spark and fuel, it should go - if timing is correct. You mention changing the distributer, is it possible you have leads swapped round ? Try setting the engine to TDC with the cam pulley notches upwards, then check the rotor arm is pointing at No.1 plug lead.

Loom I got from Tcb for dash and they are anal about that sort of thing.... Ted had a spare loom for same model and age... That's the one that's in the engine bay now.... No error codes flashing up... Umm distributor was changed due to old one being cracked on mounting bolts and old... No spark on 2+4 now spark on all... Umm could it be possible injectors firing on wrong stroke and time? And I have a workshop manual as a guide for ecu pin outs... Was going to go through them tomorrow... If it's easier shall I just call you tomorrow Chris?

Try checking the 2 wires at the injector for the ignition live and the negative trigger from the ecu

Ok what's the best way to do that? Make my own circuit? To test negative trigger what do I have to do? And how will I test it with limited tools and experience on electrics

Ok strangely after checking rotor was facing right way and injectors had power disconnecting fuel pump to clear flooding she started :o so that's weird but she runs just little hesitant understandable as been sat a while but first turn of key and she starts

Not uncommon for engines that don't fire up straight away for whatever reason to flood and then not start anyway.

Injectors out of sequence will cause very little change in operation, possibly a little lumpiness at idle & light throttle.

best bet is run the car for a while and see if it settles. Engines don't like being stood for long periods.
