Thanks for the advice Nibbles, so in fact you bought Deer Hunters? not ditch finders? hope the damage was repairable. I have seen some maxxis for £50 in that width. TBH if I'm going to get the tyres done I will probably get all four corners as the rears are not a great deal better.

I do have some 18s with dunlops hidden away in Cambridge, but its getting there that's the issue, as my tyres don't feel safe enough for a 3 hour drive. Watch this space I guess. In the meantime this info has still been useful as I am on the look out for the OEM facelift wheels to replace my trispokes. Thanks

Just had some part worn Dunlops 225/50/16's fitted to my car from this little part worn place just outside Portsmouth for £108 4mm tread. I just got too 'tyred' of trying to get my Toora wheels to fit.
I'll just add wheel fitment to the list of summer jobs :x

I put 205/55/16 on standard Toyota 3 spokes. This is an OEM size for several current manufacturers and as a result there is a large range of tyres available.

I went with Dunlop Sportmaxx RT's. They were very good, but they have recently dropped past ~3mm of tread and damp/wet grip has fallen off a cliff.
