Had a hose burst on the CS which sprayed antifreeze all over the front offside engine compartment!
It was the 3" long 3/4" diam water by-pass hose to turbo. (under the turbo to IC pipe) What a boogar to get a 3" long pipe into the 1" gap between pipes!!!
Never mind, sorted now
I managed to wedge the IC far enough back to access the hose and do not believe I did any damage to other pipes or dizzy/leads.
However!!!... now she starts fine when cold (or hot) and revs to circa 1200 but on reaching normal operating temperature the revs drop to 3-400 (used to be 7-800) and she stutters. She will not pick up on throttle without a struggle, popping and banging as well. If I hold her above 1000+ there no problems at all???
Heel and toeing is a misery!
I was wondering if the electrics around the alternator or the O2 (4 wire) sensor connection (which got soaked in sticky yucky wet stuff) might shorting and miss-informing the ECU?
Should I wash these with clean water and dry off? OR... could I have nipped/split/knocked something else behind the IC when I pushed it back?
What you reckon guys?
Thanks in advance for any theories
