Martin is chopping out the rusty rear quarter areas, rear sill sections and offside rear wheel arch and welding in new sections to be taken from a shell over at his place. The front screen is cracked and needs to come out any way for some rust around the roof / screen edge to be cut out and new metal welding in. I dont know where to have it painted yet, I want a proper job (at a price point) and its previous paint jobs have been poor which is why I have to take it back to metal |

Forgot to say, its mechanically sound, its been looked after by Martin since it was Collins (Gottogoturbo) car. The turbo may be getting on for a rebuild but it drove onto the trailer ok! |

Good to see, and all credit to you Dave for persevering with restoring a car which most would have broken for parts |

Just had it about a year now and the removing and stripping is finished and the repair has started. It makes it worth while when the first forward steps are taken. |

Its going to go for sand blasting in order to get at the hard to reach areas and to see how far to cut back and replace The glass needs to come out so I can remove the last of the paint and there are a couple of holes at the top of the screen, apart from that all is good lol !!! |

The sills on my black 205 were worse than that about 7 years ago when I bought it. I bodged it to go through an MOT (cut out the worst & welded in new but some light rust was left where I couldn't access) expecting to get a couple of years out of the car before breaking. The bodge is still going now, not got much worse inside although the outer patch rusted again where I didn't bother painting it properly. These cars are built from much better metal than the old Dagenham dustbins I played with in my youth. |
