Coming from an aeronautical engineering background I remember spending many a happy hour wire locking nuts and bolts in aircraft.......is it worth applying the same technique to any of the celica nuts and bolts? I was thinking things like the rocker cover where they aren't exactly done up tight may benefit from some locking wire, also some of the more critical nuts and bolts.....or just stick with good old thread lock? |

If I knew how I would lockwire the nuts holding the turbo to the exhaust manifold as I have had issues with these coming loose in the past. Also an area where threadlock isn't going to work due to the heat. I ended up using aerospace 'k' nuts to resolve the issue. |

I have lockwire pliers if you want to practice  I used to lockwire some of the nuts and bolts on my motorbike where you couldn't over-torque them e.g. where they were used to fasten GRP to the frame. You still see a mix of lockwire and K nuts used in aero engines. I've often found that there are situations where you can't lockwire due to poor access so a mix of self locking nuts, thread lock and split pins are the only options.
