Hi all, hope you are all good
ive had a bit of a bizarre thing happen to me while getting my car mot'd, id driven there with no issues got out
and was asked to bring the car in,i hopped back in and the ignition barrel had jammed I could not start the car
it would turn ever so slightly but no where near enough to start luckily it is a friends garage so helped but in the
end we had to resort to removing the switch at the end of the barrel to get started, but that was not the end of it
the steering lock kept coming on even with the key in totally baffled, not that it takes much, but my long winded question is
has anybody had this happen to them I've tried different keys doesn't make any difference, there has never been any issue or any sign of something wearing before this. has anyone got any ideas need to get this sorted

thanks in advance
Dave

Bit of a mystery Dave, personally I would change the whole column with barrel over. It will mean you'll have to change all the locks to stay on one key, but the alternative of going straight on into a ditch is less attractive.

How do I remove the ignition barrel when I can't turn the key all the way round?

I've manged to get the key turned a bit more but not to the point where it would start
The car or remove the lock but enough now the steering lock does not come on

This is masively frustraighting as I'm normaly a bull in a china shop and would normally have put a hammer drill through the barrel by now ahhhhh

Cheers again
Dave
