Hi guys. Car was running fine one day and NOT the next?
Normally starts 2nd stroke but the other day she needed a bit of throttle. Ran fine when warming up but when warm, when I lifted off, she cut out????
Started again no problem but struggled to tick over. 2-300 rpm only and cut out occasionally.
Tiny bit of throttle and she is good. I have not done anything, it is not cold or damp, I have no codes and no air leaks.....??
Is there an idle control sensor that can fail? or an idle valve that may be blocked?
Its a fiddle to 'heel and toe' to keep the revs up when braking !!!
ST205 getting some more use than normal :)
Cheers for any input.

I'm not familiar with 185's but if it runs a similar idle air control valve (IACV) to the 205 then it sounds like it's malfunctioning. The symptoms point in that direction.

Thanks Don. Hopefully someone can point me to where that resides and what can be done :)

It is on the bottom of the throttle body.

If the engine fast idles as normal when cold, it won't be that though, as there is no other means of pushing the extra air other than aircon idle up.

Imo far more likely an air leak you haven't found yet. Anything between afm on the filter box and engine will cause a fuelling. Issue. The most common one not to spot is the corrugated intake pipes from afm to turbo.

Yeah sounds like a stuck idle air control valve. Does it sound and feel fine when actually driving and on the throttle but just fies when you close the throttle? Air leak will often result in high idle (like 1200-2000rpm). There should be a pipe that goes from the intake that feeds the iacv that you can pull off and check it stalls the engine if u put your thumb over it to block it. Its about 2 inches in diameter. If the engine keeps running it means air is getting in somewhere else

It is low idle and stalling on idle Archangel mate. She runs fine when cold and with a bit of pedal when warm
I have samsco pipes to the turbo Nibbles :)
I'll see if I can find the 2" pipe and play with that.
Got a mind to adjust the throttle cable just to give a few revs when warm????
Thanks lads.
Just had a thought! ... Could a failing O2 sensor be causing this?

Reet lads. I have still got this problem
Needs throttle to start, Runs fine until warm ... Then no idle????
2 to 300 rpm and cuts out!!! If I hold the throttle, its ok but I cannot do this all the time.
Thanks for any advise
