Post subject:  Uneven tyre wear front drivers side
What can cause drivers front tyre to wear from the outer edge inwards by an inch or 2. Don't think it my erratic sharp 90 degree turns as I usually save those for right hand bends. Also roundabouts are clockwise in this country obviously ;) Car drives pretty straight with no steering input.
Could the geometry be out? Is it something that can be dialled back in. My suspension is completely stock BTW.

When did you last have the front toe-in checked? This could well cause uneven tyre wear.

Never had it checked. Can any decent tyre shop check this? I did ask once at Kinson tyres (Chris I think will know them) and they said to take it somewhere (can't remember where but sounded a bit specialist) I was a bit surprised, how hard can it be? lol
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it is something a tyre place won't usually touch. (Kinson Tyres have always been good to me)

So you think it could be that even though she doesn't pull to one side?

Should I spray some WD40 on the toe arms (if its that that gets adjusted?) too loosen it up for them?

Kinson tyres used to have the kit, guess they got rid :(

The little garage behind Lidl in Winton has a sign advertising alignment checking. Also think Protyre(?) over by Macro can do it. There's another place over by Poole law courts on the road up to the Frizzel roundabout. Forget the name but it used to have a dirt great tyre outside

However tyre wear one side on the front is probably not just a simple tracking issue - you turn the steering wheel to make it go straight creating wear on both sides.

Needs a good poke about with a pry bar first imo

Tracking error will cause the same uneven wear on both sides (inside edge or outside edge). This can sometimes appear one sided if you have different ammount of wear (i.e. both tyres were not fitted new at the same time) or different tyre pressures. Low pressure causes both outside edges to wear quicker and will increase the effect of a tracking error.

The more usual causes of uneven (one side more than other) wear on one tyre are either camber (wheel not vertical), play in suspension or steering that corner causing the wheel to flop about, or driving like a nutter round corners (wears outside edge on tyre which is on outside of corner).

Hmmm, that sounds expensive..

I just stuck a front set of Toyo Proxes CF2s (CHEAP) and there already is a band of surface wear on the outer rim, drivers side (I re-worded that sentence for obvious reasons lol)
