I'm going to need a new lower arm for passenger side SSS some time soon(ish).
I've had a little dig around and see that in the past some people have used GT4-racing (which seem to be at a really good price  )
Is this still considered to be a good route or do I need to man up and buy new from TCB??

I personally wouldn't trust a 'refurbed' lower arm without knowing in great detail the process involved. If a joint or arm breaks it will very likely put the car completely out of control.
The less critical banana arm may be worth a punt though.

looking at their website, it is just the bushes they refurb ..... would you still consider that to be unsuitable??

I wouldn't be so worried about bushes, but the ball joints also wear out so I wouldn't expect a long and happy life for the arm overall.

I've had a full set of the gt4 racing arms.
I probably wouldn't get them again.
The issue is with the fig8 joint on the lower arm.
They don't actually replace the joints; i think they inject some sort of Teflon polymer into the joint at high pressure.

One of mine was supplied with slight play (I didn't realise when swapping them out). To be fair gt4 racing did send me a new one very quickly & that one is still on the car & working fine.

10 months after fitting, the lower arm on the other side went on the same joint. I replaced with OEM Toyota.

The poly bushes in the banana arm are also not great. They don't have enough 'give' in the correct directions so NVH is higher & they put excess load into the bolt, risking knocking the captive nut in the chassis loose - which would be a bad day. They also squeak & need spraying with silicone every 3k miles.

All that considered, as it stands I'm still quids in over getting everything from Toyota. Depends how long you intend on keeping the car I guess.

Thanks for the responses so far .... definitely food for thought.
I have been doing some further research and can find the lower arms for a little under £300 each from TCB which is a saving of circa £100 on Toyota, BluePrint etc ...
Has anyone else found any where cheaper, its starting to look like TCB are going to get a minor pay day from me as the list of requirements seem to be growing daily!!

Eurocarparts do them believe it or not. Although I note that they now use the ominous word 'aftermarket'.
