Just got back after a 5 1/2 hour mammoth mapping session. Power was good at 277 at the hubs, but it's very laggy.
Was mapped at 1.2 Bar max (on my request), but this only comes in at 4.7k Rpm. Max torque is at 4.7k too, then drops off quite dramatically.

It seems that the turbo may well be the cause of the lag, but i'll find out more from fensport tomorrow. Its a Stage 3 CT26 (or so i am told). boost is supposed to be available from 3.2k - so something isn't right.

I’m happy with the way it’s running and the performance is amazing.. but only for a limited duration.

Oh Here’s some pictures too..

No 800 injectors yet.. but watch this space!
i've got a vid too but no where to post it to - so if anyone can host it..?

Cheers for all your help guys as ever..!

Robbie - that torque does drop off fairly sharply...would be good to see that levelling out which should make a quick useable car.

Are you having more mapping to correct the problem?

I will be trying to find out why the torque is dropping off so sharp and why the turbo is so laggy - hopefully i will know more today. The guys doing the diagnostics didn't know why it was doing it...?

Hmm that is an odd one - almost looks like you have a boost leak (FMIC piping loose?) or a vac line has popped off/been left off. I cant see a Fensport Stage 3 taking until 4700rpm to reach 1.2 bar. Sounds like you are trying to pressurise the worlds atmosphere and henc eyou are shifting up teh compressor map.

How are you controlling boost? Nice torque though. :-)

I'm going to check for error codes - it seems that a 54 can cause this. Also going to remove the pipe from the turbo to the actuator and give it a bit of a easy run to see if this makes a difference.

There is a pace FMIC, and the turbo's been clocked. Do you know how i can pressure check the FMIC to check for leaks?

Quite nice results none the less

I have seen a very similar plot somewhere (possibly Gary) where hp stayed pretty much flat across the board and torque dropped off

What spec is the engine?
If it's got some warm cams/headwork then it could be that the turbo is struggling to keep up with demand
THe low(ish) mph figures also suggest a 3rd gear pull????? Or is this just an artifact of the hubpack system - I don't know. Pretty sure Thor would know what they're doing just a little bit more than me LOL

You can pressure test the FMIC relatively simply. Pull off the pressure line to the actuator and use it as a connection point for a low pressure airline, bike pump etc. Then pull off the turbo->FMIC pipework and blank it. All things being correct this should give you a pretty sealed system. Certainly enough for a compresor to pump it to 20-30psi to show leaks
