Hi There, Has anyone had a cylinder head rebuild for an st205? I'm looking for a company to overhaul the head on my GT4, think it may require some work. Car does puff when accelerating, Smoke is white. Just a little. Also when car is on tick over after a while. Any information or possible companies I could speak would be great. Thx Spam |

What is it like on first start-up in the morning? How old is the turbo? |

More likely turbo than head. |

Hi Chaps, Car starts first time no issues. After a while on tick over it looks like white steam coming from the exhaust, but not much though. Car has done around 60k Smoke is on the black side of grey when accelerating hard. No white deposit present under oil filler etc so head gasket should be fine. Generally the engine sounds very good and pulls strong, no knocks or strange noised from it Do ya think the turbo needs a refurb? Has anyone used turbo dynamics for this? Any idea on cost |

Blavk smoke on accelleration is common and is down to rich mixture on boost - required to keep cylinder temperatures down. A worn turbo with reduced efficiency will make the mixture richer as fuelling is set from manifold pressure. |

Thanks Nibbles, I think the turbo oil seal require replacement. Still pulls really well but there is a bit of oil around back of the unit Do the GT4 chaps use any specific turbo specialist? I have been told CR Turbo's are a good bet. Let me know if there are any companies you may know. |

Choice of which turbo company to use is very much down to the individual. I've used Owen Developments http://www.owendevelopments.co.uk/ for years but there are many others. I don't know of CR Turbos but maybe someone else has experience of them. |
