Hi Gents.
Having an odd intermittent problem with the CS whereby, very occasionally (particularly when the battery is a bit low) the starter will not turn. Everything lights up but when key rotated final stage (against the spring) all I hear is a pump whine. (fuel I guess)
Try it 3/4/5x still nothing. Wait a minute, try again and she spins over and starts within a couple of strokes!!! (mind if I had a no start a few times she starts with a cough and a pop.. over fuelled!)
Any clues as to whether this could just be a bad contact in either the ignition switch and/or the starter itself or is there a solenoid or anything which breaks down?
Cheers lads. :0 need to fix it before selling her :(
ATB Jeff.

Starter solenoids are a known weak point. The fixed contact is the end of the bolt that the battery cable connects to and over time they have been known to rotate. Its an easy enough task to strip the solenoid down and clean/realign everything with the starter off the car but as usual getting it off the car is awkward and "some disassembly may be required"

That great news :(
Thought I had seen that somewhere.
Is it best to go in from the top, under battery tray I guess, or from underneath?
Thanks
